Real people. Real jobs: Owner-trainer-breeder Mike Dini on consequences of decoupling legislation

Mike Dini is a thoroughbred owner, trainer and breeder who also serves as president of the Tampa Bay Downs HBPA. He employs 23 people for his stable of 40 horses. Dini’s take on the fallout if “decoupling” legislation passes that would allow Gulfstream Park to keep its gaming licenses without the current mandate to conduct live horse racing: “I guess it means how quick I can sell and get out. There will be no reason to breed Florida-breds.”
